Squillionaires Man Utd nudged billionaires Chelsea into second place with mere multi-millionaires Arsenal and Liverpool behind them. What hope for us all when success rests purely on how rich your owner is? Consolation was to be found with Blues sliding into Division II, relegated by one point, an agony for Villa fans to savour, particularly since we beat them home (5-1) and away (2-1). Had they mustered just a point from us they'd have stayed up. Villa finished 6th earning access to the Intertoto Cup, ridiculed by all except it's entrants. It'll make for a more meaningful pre-season I suppose.
